The sun rises like it has done in millions of years.
But the birds are chirping no more!
I'm deaf to the whispers of the wind;
Numb to the touch of the sea breeze.
My eyes are sleep starved;
My voice hoarse with screaming!
My mouth longs to quench thirst;
My belly growling in hunger!
My limbs are tired of running;
Running from the place I called home!
I now sleep in a tent.
All this because of war.
I don't even know what we are fighting for!
How I wish peace swept across the world like a tsunami!
It would be a better world for you and me!
