It’s easy to give it all up

And allow time bury your name

With the flaws of yesterday;

Even then, there is a need to fight for life.

It’s cheap to spend your days

Wallowing in the booth of guilt and lament,

Awaiting fate’s lullaby to bring you smiles;

Even then, there is a need to fight for life.

I have learnt that growth lugs

With it thorns along our paths;

Sacrificing comfort to bank legacies

And daily dying to embrace change.

Life promises nothing all;

For better or worse, ride along,

Exhorting each soul you meet

To live today before it’s gone.

For the ones you cherish and love,

There is a need to fight for life.
