I Betrayed Diffidence

When I stand on the sunshine of each new day,
Head raised up, shoulders high
Above the grip of fear,
Behold, the darkness of yesterday fades away.

I betrayed diffidence,
As worries watch me glide
Before the brows of marching minutes;
Off I go to the land of providence

Where hope embraces the heart,
Where grace cuddles sinking souls;
I see my dreams, I see belief,
With God behind, all throes depart.

And as I swim into the arms of tomorrow,
May valor vanquish all
Doubts and dreads along the way;
This I pray and hope it's so.
