The Grit Of Motherhood

The Grit of Motherhood

 A mother and child
Were stabbed to their bones
With tailored tears running wild,

Freely drooping, dropping cascade
Gravid with gritty groans
Along tracks cheeks are laid.

Sorrow stole spaces within,
Their souls donned dreadful dolor;
Faces flushed with sheepish grin

For death bids to wring her seed,
Rendering neither succour nor a dollar;
Such devilish offer she wouldn’t heed

As she caringly envelops her crying child
In the warm sheath of her bosom,
With tailored tears running wild,

Evincing the grit of motherhood,
And the agony of losing an only son at childhood.
