Your Life Is Your Call

Just as everything has a beginning,

An end is always imminent.

It has never ceased being a question of choices and chances

And you have nothing to lose if you make and take some.

Sometimes, we never arrive at where we want to be

Other times, the journey is not as rosy as it seems

Those we thought we are better than

Those we see with haughtiness and chuckle at

Might just go ahead to beat us in attaining life’s goals

Leaving us a little blue and discontent with opportunities we fail to optimize.

Inclinations may arise for us to compare and complain

To have been in one place for so long

To have not taken chances when they surfaced

To have missed moments of breakthrough and victory

But through it all

Reality keeps starring us all in the face

Saying: Live on and leave the memories behind.

Your life might be fraught with mistakes

Your past, a fortress of regrets

Simply work your way through

And don’t stop moving on

Till all your present worries are dead and gone.

You should know by now

Life has never and will never be a destination

It’s an ongoing odyssey to fulfill a mission

Your mission, my mission, our missions

And though tracks and paths may differ

Though visions and intentions may vary

The truth will always and forever remain

You and I, Us and them

All are heading towards the same direction.

The belief is that you know ‘where’ and ‘why’

And ‘how’ to get there won’t be much of a problem.

Sometimes, we rise and fall

Sometimes, we fall and fall

One good thing of it all

Is that we learn to live through it all.

Nothing is compulsory in life

And like a fleeting puff of air

Everything comes and goes.

Perceive everyday as an opportunity

To fulfill the lurking desires of your heart

And don’t make happiness your sole goal

Else, you set yourself up to be brokenhearted.

Know that “your greatest mistakes would be

To be someone other than yourself”

And your greatest joy would be

Discovering why you are who you are.

What matters is who you are and who you become

Not what you are and where you are.

If you are ashamed as regard where you are

Where do you think you ought to be?

And what have you done to get there?

It is never too late or too early

To be, have and do what you want with your life.

It is not a question of how fast you rise

Or who gets to succeed first among your peers?

It is a question of knowing your purpose in life,

What you can do that will last for eternity to benefit humanity

And how far and determined you can go to make this happen?

Your life is your call

Be like no other but yourself

And just in time

By growing to reach your maximum potential,

The essence of your existence will become clear before your eyes.
