Why We Should Be Grateful?

We should be grateful for the pains
That took the tears in our eyes
But made us stronger.
We should be grateful for the falls
That made us a subject of ridicule
But taught us how to stand when we rise.
We should be grateful for the insults
That made us look humiliated
But showed us the weaknesses of others.
We should be grateful for the disappointments
That shattered our hopes
But opened the door to something even much bigger.
We should be grateful for the bitter pasts
That brought us this far
But prepared us for the best that lies ahead.
We should be grateful for the sufferings
That demoralized our spirits, troubled our souls
But taught us how to endure and be patient.
We should be grateful for the failures
That rendered our efforts useless
But taught us what it takes to really succeed.
We should be grateful for those who left us
Those who thought we couldn’t really go far
But showed us how to find happiness and discover who we are.
We should be grateful for the mistakes made
That altered our destinies
But made us aware of the decisions to take and not to take.
We should be grateful for what we couldn’t have
Thought it looks defeating,
But made us value what we already have.
We should be grateful for the deeds done
That impaired or repaired us,
But now we know what can and can’t be done.
We should be grateful for those who broke our hearts
Thinking they could leave us defenseless and dejected
But made us understand the fullness of what love can truly be.
We should be grateful for the adversity
That left us ill and weak
But provided us with the realization of what reality is.
We should be grateful to God
For the food, for the shelter and the air
For the family, for the experience and the life
That He unconditionally gave us.
Though we are yet to get there,
To the place we all want to belong and be loved;
For the mere fact that we are a work-in-progress,
Savoring the moments with hope to see tomorrow,
We should be grateful.
Tell no one this secret of mine
Else, someone might just cart away my treasure- YOU!
I am grateful God gave me you and you to give my life a meaning.
