This Is More Than It Seems (Metaphorically)

What strikes me most in this world of disseat
Is how many different people get knocked up off their feet
And what shocks me even more
Is that the indulgence isn’t even what they did it for

The reason lies deeper than just a common belief
That all these people are just born to be thieves
Inside their history, in-delved in their genes
Is a conditioning of fear, sowed in at the seams

A product of blindness, a scotoma if you will
A resemblance of consuming an ignorance pill
But it is not that harsh of a judgement we should make
You see it’s born from a lack of love they’ve had to partake

So it not be a shoulder we should turn towards these times
But an open armed embrace that shows we can internalise
Be it not that they are different from anything in us
It’s just had to deal with things the best they could

What they need now more than anything else
Is to know that someone understands as though it was done to themselves
To connect to the life inside someones soul
Is what will help this world to become whole

It may be less about pain and more about fun
But what we all want most is to feel like we’re one.
