The overwhelming scourge of democracy
Daunts the masses to bolster hypocrisy
While probity languishes in a sorry state
For politicians to diddle and proliferate their estates.
The horrendousness of corruption in the nation
Escalates with velocity beyond comprehension
That we can’t but remain patriotic
Keeping hope alive to avert being idiotic.
For too long we have anticipated change
Granting liberty to charlatans to arrange
National priorities with abysmal intentions
Thus, fostering native wars among indigent citizens
to live in tension.
Amidst us are pretenders
Avowing to represent us as leaders
With accountability shoveled behind
The bars of cataleptic creed and irrational mind.
We all have the right to remain silent
Jeopardizing the potential in the present
To permit prejudice and precariousness thrive
In a society already stooping low to perpetual
strife and strive.
If solution is what we all seek?
Our voices and consciences must never sink to fall
sick
Consenting not to the pretenders in the helms of
power
To obliterate our rosy future in every hour.
