Though we are young and free
Thriving beyond boarders and barriers like a
tropical tree
We ought not to give in to laziness and lust
Living our lives collecting tacky treasures and
dust.
Though days lie ahead for us to blossom and boom
It entails a step at a time else we’ll meet our doom
Past rigors waxed to prepare our minds and marrows
for today
Anticipating tomorrows call while knowing the exact
price to pay.
Feed not your appetite with thoughts of facile fame
But integrity, honour having longevity than your
desire’s flame
Times will be rough and tough; do your best
Not cutting corners to succeed and be the first
among the rest.
Life has its twist and turn
Make no haste; wait your turn
Beauty fades as we grow weak and old
What we live for will be left to be told.
Though afflicted and languishing in pretense
Uniting with one voice, we can make a difference
When the trail is set, others will follow
With love in our hearts, there will be no more sorrow.
When not all that can be counted really counts
Know for sure your decision counts
And to crave to someday become a reputable somebody
Be ready to undergo the tests of being a noble nobody.
