"Canto"

We all have a story to tell
Either about heaven or hell,
As we live with the conundrums of fate
In a place where greed and hate is never abhorred
And the nosh of love being jettisoned.
Step after step
Evolution keeps thriving
And the world is no longer in wait
For a saviour yet unborn.
At the rise of a morning sun
Folks languish in the mood of mourn
And as salvation awaits to be born
All we see is the abortion of dreams
And kept in the furnace of bitterness and shame
For all its progeny to rot and burn.
Life! Life!!
Meaningless it seems to many
For all they experience is cruelty and torture
As they embrace with arms wide open
Frustration, dejection and rejection.
Easy are wishes to make
But not for too long
Can wounded souls be appeased,
For no one seems to care
Whether they die or live in pain.
Children grow in trepidation
Mothers cry in degeneration
And we ask yet again,
Where is the love?
With leaders' burning lascivious visions
Nations dwindle in tremor,
Neither will their inhabitants cease to clamour;
Clamour for change and nothing but positive change.
Years have rolled by
With no change in sight
Desires have gone dry
Without hope and might;
We know not what went wrong
But as the clouds remain up in the sky
Our reasons to live and live again
Will not be engulfed by the darkness of sarcophagus
Decorated by the envoys of virulence
Until we die to live again.
We all have a story to tell
Either about a life of peace or pain
A life of bliss or bane;
Though distinctly we all came,
Our stories long for answers to just one question,
Where is the love?
...So the story goes on and on
For no one knows where it shall end.
One thing is for sure,
Whatever has a dawn must possess a dusk.
As life goes on with us in it,
Surely, someday,
Change will change
But till then, play your part for change.
