Ode To Africa

Africa, we hail thee
Our own dear fecund land;
Though strife has torn our hearts apart,
For a better tomorrow
We shall stand.

Africa, we hope for thee
To blossom beyond the shores;
As life goes on till eternity comes,
Only love
Can make us strong.

To attain the peak
In development's trail,
Neither you nor me
But us can take us far.

Even when we lack
The ingredient of love,
We need not halt to watch
Our fecund land go wrong.

Very sad it is
To see our youths turn thugs
In our land,
Where corruption's fray is meant to unite us all.

Tendentious inclination we must efface,
Egocentric temerity in our terrain we must erase;
Far and near we all may be,
Succinct sussed ambassadors we all must be
To abort irksome inanity in our dear fecund land.

....Need not ask how?
Be prepared as a patriot
For change and sanguine revolution yet unborn
And let's save our dear fecund land
Africa, together forever.

Africa, our own dear fecund land,
We hail thee
And hope that someday,
You shall blossom to greatness beyond the shores;
Africa, our beloved fecund land.

  1. Wow, dear friend!! How proud I am of you, not only of your literary prowess but of your faithfulness to your homeland when it would be so easy to just forsake it and go to an easier life elsewhere. God bless you and keep you safe, hon!!
